The Exchange is a Department of War organization that improves military readiness, wherever service members and their families serve.

Exchange associates serve around the world to ensure Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians and their families have the goods and services they need—that taste of home that boosts morale.

The Exchange is at the heart of the military community.  The Exchange gives service members a place to shop, dine, grab a snack, get a haircut, watch a blockbuster movie, have their car repaired and so much more. The Exchange does it all to improve the lives of the troops.

The team’s deep passion for serving sets the Exchange apart. Exchange associates live by the core value of family serving family. Associates share a special bond with service members—more than 80% have a military connection, either having served in the Armed Forces or are the parent, spouse or extended family member of someone who is wearing or has worn our Nation’s uniform. About 45% of the Exchange’s U.S. workforce is made up of Veterans, military spouses or dependents. We know our customers’ needs because we are the customers.

The Exchange is a Department of War non-appropriated fund entity that provides tax-free shopping and military-exclusive pricing to 30 million authorized shoppers, including active-duty service members, their dependents, military retirees, Veterans and DoD/Coast Guard civilians with Common Access Cards.

The Exchange operates nationwide and in more than 30 countries with 118 PXs and BXs, 163 Military Clothing stores, 568 convenience stores, 1,600 restaurants and more. At ShopMyExchange.com, shoppers can find more than 5 million items.
